This office is also in charge of making sure that the City is kept in a visually attractive manner. Inspectors continue to keep nuisances, unsightly debris,unlicensed/abandoned vehicles and deteriorated structures from existing. Scheduling an Inspection Inspections must be scheduled before electrical services can be turned on by Ameren UE, if there is an upgrade to a service, or for new construction. New construction inspections would include footings, final inspections and certificate of occupancy inspections before the building can be occupied for residency or for use. All electrical appliances such as electric water heaters, furnaces, etc. must be inspected by the Building Inspectors Department following installation. These inspections will be done following the purchase of a heating permit. |

Occupancy Inspections must be scheduled with and performed by the Fire Department separately.
