Objectives The office of Community Development is designed to promote orderly growth and redevelopment in the City of Moberly and its environment. Administering Regulations The power to enact zoning and subdivision regulations has been granted to cities and counties by the state enabling legislation. These statutes require the participation of three (3) separate bodies in the process of administering the regulations:
The City of Moberly has a highly extensive digital mapping system, called the GIS (Geographic Information Systems). For several years, the City has been working to add to this system, and keep the information that has been collected current. You can get a digital map by visiting: http://moberly.villagis.net |

The following information can be obtained through the digital mapping program:
• Parcel information
This layer Includes ownership, legal description and lot dimensions of parcels. While these lines are not as precise as having your property surveyed by a professional, it can give you an idea as to where your property lines lie.
• Infrastructure locations
This includes a detailed layout of the location of waterlines and water mains, water structures such as fire hydrants, gravity sewer mains, force mains, and sewer structures, such as manholes. Information can be given on the diameter of a line, the type of material, depth of a manhole and much more.
• Contour and elevation information
This layer shows the elevation and high and low points within the City of Moberly. Contour lines are shown at 2' intervals.
• Zoning information
This layer shows the zoning districts within the City of Moberly.
• Color aerial photography
This layer is composed of digital photographs that were taken of the City of Moberly from an aerial flyover that took place in June of 2005. The next flyover is scheduled to take place and be available to the public in late 2009!
• Cemetery Plot Location
Unsure of where a loved one is buried? The Oakland Cemetery is digitally mapped so that each grave site has a point location within the GIS System. The City of Moberly is currently working to construct a lighted kiosk display board to be located at the main entrance of the Oakland Cemetery so that citizens can locate these plots using a coordinate system.
• Emergency Management, Crime Analysis, Intersections, County Road Location
And Much More!
There are a number of layers that have been collected for the City of Moberly. City staff continues to update this information daily, and is currently in the process of collecting storm points with a Global Positioning Device, which accurately locates point or line data by it's coordinates.
