Moberly Parks and Recreation resurfaced the asphalt trails throughout Rothwell Park and the Howard Hills Athletic Complex in September 2016.
The project cost $47,441 and will be funded in large part thanks to the Recreational Trails Program grant through the DNR which will reimburse approximately 75% of the project. This is one of several examples of Moberly Parks and Recreation leverage outside funds with local tax dollars to stretch how far our dollars go.
Nature Trails
In fall 2016, park employees cleared nature trails between the Lodge and Athletic Complex and connected them to the West 43 Wilderness Area, providing a network of nature trails totaling 2.5 miles.
