The City of Moberly, Missouri, will host an open presentation at Moberly City Hall to discuss the renewal of the ½ cent sales tax for Moberly Parks and Recreation. This open presentation will be held during our bi-monthly city council meeting on Monday, December 05, 2016, at 6:00 p.m.

The Moberly Parks and Recreation Board unanimously requested the ½ cent sales tax renewal measure be listed on the April 04, 2017, ballot which would renew the current ½ cent sales tax for an additional 10 years.

Funds accrued from the ½ cent sales tax would allow for the continued operations of Moberly’s park system. These projects include, but are not limited to – additional paved parking, expansion of the Howard Hils Athletic Complex facilities, a skate park, and renovations of existing facilities including that of replacing outdated/original electrical at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium.

The above, proposed projects, will help fill needs identified in the 2011 Master Plan which was derived in part from a community survey.

City of Moberly residents are encouraged to attend this public forum and provide feedback regarding the proposed rate, renewal of the existing ½ cent sales tax, and possible future projects.
