The City of Moberly is saddened to learn of the passing of former Mayor Jerry C. Jeffrey. Mr. Jeffrey served on the City Council for nine years beginning in 2015, and as Mayor from July 2017 to April 2023.
“Jerry was a fixture on the City Council for many years; his steadfast dedication to Moberly was both inspirational and rare,” said City Manager Michael Bugalski. “What was most admirable about him was that, despite his passionate commitment to the Council, he never lost sight of the bigger picture and who he was there to serve. He always had Moberly’s best interests at heart. He will be deeply missed, but his presence and impact will live on for many years. The City Council and Staff will keep Jerry’s family and friends in our hearts and thoughts in the days ahead.”
