[ARCHIVED] Missouri Good Neighbor Week

2025 Good Neighbor Week

Mayor Brandon Lucas, with City Manager Michael Bugalski, invite the community to connect with one another with a proclamation declaring September 28th through October 4th as Missouri Good Neighbor Week.

Signed into law in 2022, Missouri Good Neighbor Week encourages citizens of Missouri to “participate in events and activities to establish connections with their neighbors.” In 2024, MU Extension documented over 30,000 acts of neighboring across the state.

“This week is an opportunity for us as a community to pause and remember who we are as a community and to see the humanity in those who live around us,” said Scott McGarvey, Community Relations Manager. “Whether it’s lending a hand, checking in on an elderly neighbor, or just simply sharing a smile, every action builds a positive bond.”

For 2025, the goal is 35,000 acts of neighboring, and Moberly residents are encouraged to help reach that milestone by nominating their most engaged neighbor or planning simple acts of kindness throughout the week. Visit https://missourigoodneighborweek.com for more details.
