[ARCHIVED] City Clerk Recognition

Hance

During this week’s Council meeting City Clerk Shannon Hance received recognition for achieving Certified Municipal Clerk (International) status. Marilyn Dick, City Clerk/City Collector for Centralia, MO, represented the Public Relations Committee of the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association (MoCCFOA) Central Division for the presentation.
The Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) program equips municipal clerks in communities of all sizes with the knowledge and expertise needed to navigate the multifaceted responsibilities of their role. To achieve the CMC designation, clerks must complete comprehensive educational courses and gain relevant experience within a municipality. Offered in collaboration with higher education institutions and various professional associations at the local, state, and national levels, the CMC program has supported clerks in their professional growth since 1970.
Over 4600 Clerks hold CMC status world-wide, including 80 in Missouri.
Shannon joined the City in 2018 as Deputy City Clerk. She became City Clerk in November 2020 and received her Missouri Registered City Clerk (MRCC) status in 2023.
