[ARCHIVED] City and County Launch Joint SWAT Team to Enhance Regional Public Safety

Joint SWAT

(Moberly, MO, June 24, 2025) - The City of Moberly and the Randolph County Commission are proud to announce the implementation of a joint SWAT team between the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Moberly Police Department, and the North Missouri Drug Task Force. This joint effort has proven to be effective in maintaining a well-staffed and expertly trained team of law enforcement professionals ready to deploy across the city/county and local region with minimal time constraints. The joint SWAT team is a major advancement for both agencies towards successful interagency cooperation and a shared goal of reducing crime for the citizens of Randolph County.

Recently the Moberly City Council and Randolph County Commission unanimously passed a cooperating agreement between both departments to provide support to the team through cooperative staffing and budgetary funding.

“The joint SWAT team is an idea that has been around for many years. As law enforcement has advanced and staffing has become an issue for many departments, combining agency resources is paramount to maintaining a highly trained tactical team.  I believe this was the right step for the citizens of Moberly and Randolph County” said Moberly Police Chief Bobby Calvert.

“We are honored to have the support of the City of Moberly and the Randolph County Commission to form this team of professionals. We have a shared goal and commitment to the citizens of Randolph County to provide the best law enforcement possible. This is one of many steps taken by both departments in recent months to further our efforts and prove working together is the best solution to law enforcement efforts in our community” said Sheriff Andy Boggs.
