RV Campground

Thompson Campground offers 24 full hook-up RV spaces. Each space has a concrete pad, electricity, water and sewer connections. Thompson Campground offers a year-round shower, restroom facility, and several nearby amenities for the whole family.

History

Thompson Campground sits within the 465-acre Rothwell Park and was named in honor of Lionel Thompson, former Mayor of Moberly. He was an avid camper and enjoyed the natural beauty and quiet surroundings of Rothwell Park.

The campground is in the midst of 465 acres full of amenities for everyone. Amenities nearby:

Group Tent Camping

In addition to the RV park, there is a Group Tent Camping area. This area is for family, scout, or other groups tent camping together. The group must be 10-50 people tenting with a 7-day maximum stay. The fee is $175/night and must be paid by one organizer of the Group. A large, shared campfire pit is included in the Group Camp area. This area does not have electrical.

Rules / Regulations

Campground rules may be viewed here. The rules are posted on the information stand at the entrance and all campers are responsible for knowing the rules and abiding by them. To stay, campers must sign off on a rule sheet with the Park Ranger. Failure to follow the rules may result in eviction without refund. 

Adjacent Amenities 

The full scope of Rothwell Park's amenities are within walking distance. Two amenities immediately adjacent to Thompson Campground are the one mile long Miniature Railroad and the Magic City Master Gardeners' Maze Garden.
